Alaska Construction Materials

The short course reviews Alaska’s historical production of these commodities, published geological and engineering data available in Alaska, and focuses on market opportunities for new aggregate and construction material ventures. Specific topics included in the course are: an overview of the availability of construction materials in Alaska, Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOTPF) aggregate needs, materials information from maps, materials testing, and property rights and construction materials. The course will convene from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Westmark Hotel, Fairbanks.

Lecturers: Dr. Paul Metz – University of Alaska, Fairbanks, Thomas Bundtzen – President, Pacific Rim Geological Consultants.

Large Project Permitting
Tuesday March 18, 2008 (8am - 3pm)
$125.00 (includes lunch)

This short course shall provide an overview of the DNR large mining project permitting process, including case examples. The course will convene from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the Westmark Hotel, Fairbanks.

Senior Lecturer: Bob Tsigonis(AK DNR), Cindy Godsey (US EPA), Sharon Seim (US COE), Tim Pilon (AK DEC), Mac McLean (AK DNR), Charlie Cobb (AK DNR) and Steve McGroarty (AK DNR).

Properly Filing Mining License Tax and State Royalty

This short course provides training on accurately complying with the requirements of the Mining License Tax and Royalty. The primary focus will be on the small operators and accountants to ensure the filings are correct.
